Project Overview
Integrated Ward Equipment for a Private Hospital in Leyte
Mother of Mercy Hospital is a private Level II general hospital located in Tacloban City, Leyte. It provides emergency services together with inpatient and outpatient care for residents of Tacloban and surrounding communities in Eastern Visayas.
Its clinical services cover internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery and other general healthcare needs, supported by laboratory and radiology facilities.
The SAIKANG project focuses on the inpatient environment. Project photographs document equipment within completed single-patient and multi-patient rooms, providing a clear view of how hospital beds, bedside furniture and supporting equipment are arranged around each patient position.
Hospital beds and bedside furniture are coordinated with monitoring, infusion and respiratory support equipment within the patient-care space.
The project documents equipment applications across different inpatient room configurations within the same hospital.
A Complete Bedside Equipment Environment
The single-patient room shows how multiple categories of equipment are organized around one patient position. At the center is a hospital bed with mattress and side rails, providing the main platform for inpatient rest and bedside care.
An overbed table extends across the bed to provide an accessible surface for meals and routine bedside activities. A bedside cabinet positioned near the head of the bed provides additional storage and a surface for supporting equipment.
The room also includes IV poles, a bedside patient monitor and wall-mounted bed head services. Respiratory support equipment is positioned beside the bed, creating a more comprehensive patient-care environment than a standard bed-only ward configuration.
Equipment Identified in the Single-Patient Room
The project image demonstrates how patient-support, bedside furniture and clinical equipment can be positioned together around a single inpatient bed.
Hospital Bed
Main patient-support platform with mattress, side rails and mobile castors.
Overbed Table
Movable tabletop positioned across the bed for meals and everyday bedside activities.
Bedside Cabinet
Bedside storage positioned close to the patient and supporting clinical equipment.
Patient Monitor
Bedside monitoring equipment positioned at the head of the patient bed.
IV Poles
Mobile infusion support positioned around the patient-care area.
Bed Head Unit
Wall-mounted service panel organizing bedside electrical and clinical connections.
Respiratory Support Equipment
Mobile respiratory support equipment positioned beside the hospital bed as part of the clinical care setup.
Integrated Equipment for a Multi-Bed Hospital Ward
The multi-patient ward provides a wider view of how the equipment is repeated across several patient positions. Multiple hospital beds are arranged within the same clinical space, with each bed supported by bedside furniture and clinical equipment.
Overbed tables are positioned across the hospital beds, while bedside cabinets provide storage beside individual patient positions. Multiple IV poles are distributed throughout the ward to support infusion-related care.
Patient monitors and respiratory support equipment are also visible at the bedside. This creates a more equipment-intensive ward environment where patient-support equipment, monitoring systems and clinical services need to be coordinated within the same room.
From a Hospital Bed to a Complete Patient-Care Position
The Mother of Mercy Hospital project illustrates an important aspect of hospital equipment planning: an inpatient bed rarely operates as an isolated product. Each patient position is part of a wider bedside care environment.
Hospital Bed
Provides the central platform around which other bedside equipment is arranged.
Furniture & Storage
Overbed tables and bedside cabinets support everyday patient and bedside activities.
Patient Monitoring
Bedside monitoring equipment supports clinical observation close to the patient position.
Infusion & Respiratory Support
IV poles and respiratory support equipment expand the clinical functions available around the bedside.
Single-Patient vs. Multi-Patient Ward Planning
Because the project documents both room types, it also demonstrates how the same core bedside equipment categories can be adapted to different inpatient layouts.
Single-Patient Room
Provides a dedicated patient environment with equipment concentrated around one bedside position, allowing the room to be organized around the individual patient’s care requirements.
Multi-Patient Ward
Requires several patient positions and their supporting equipment to share the same room while maintaining practical staff access and circulation between beds.
Coordinating Equipment Around the Patient Bed
A well-planned ward needs enough space for patient support, monitoring, infusion care and staff access without allowing individual equipment items to obstruct the bedside workflow.
Planning Equipment for Complete Hospital Wards
For projects involving complete inpatient areas, procurement teams can evaluate the patient bed and surrounding equipment as a coordinated system rather than purchasing each product category independently.
SAIKANG Integrated Ward Equipment Project in Leyte
The Mother of Mercy Hospital project demonstrates more than the installation of individual hospital beds. The photographs show complete bedside environments in which patient-support equipment, furniture, monitoring and clinical support systems operate together.
For hospitals planning inpatient departments in the Philippines, SAIKANG can support projects with hospital beds, overbed tables, bedside cabinets, patient transport equipment and other coordinated hospital equipment according to room configuration and clinical requirements.
